Rob Shearer AIA,
Principal
Architect, Permaculture DesignerRob is an architect with over 20 years of experience in residential, commercial, and institutional projects. Additionally, Rob earned his Permaculture Design Certificate under Geoff Lawton in 2021, so that he could extend his design knowledge to encompass the entire property. His passion is to create holistic solutions that encourage efficiency of energy, water, movement, and even on site food production. With his experience in commercial development and design build residential projects, Rob is also very interested in helping clients move their projects successfully through the construction phase. In this capacity, he was the Onsite Architect for RiverRock House, the last residential project designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Rob was responsible in large part for ensuring that this special project was constructed according to the original set of plans and specifications, and for finding modern substitutions for materials no longer available. Rob serves on the Leadership board of the AIA’s Building Performance Knowledge Community.

Alexander Kolbe

ALA Allied ProfessionalAlexander is a UK licensed architect who has a lot of international experience. His career started in Berlin, Germany in 1992 with his own practice AKA architects. Having lived in Germany, England and in the US he has a wealth of knowledge in commercial and residential design all around the globe. His curiosity and eagerness to explore new design challenges made him our go-to person for opportunities abroad. He designed projects in the Philippines, China, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Colombia.
Alexander is a passionate proponent of modern design.
As an additional perk he holds a private pilot certificate which helps with long distance travel -
Michelle Kolbe
Associate
Upon graduation from Kent State University with a B. arch degree, Michelle followed her dreams and traveled to Europe, gaining valuable international experience in residential, retail and commercial design in both Germany and England. Michelle collaborated with, among others, architect Arata Isozaki in his Berlin office in the mid-nineties, soaking up the vibrancy and excitement of the post-reunification era in this truly amazing city. After 17 years abroad, she returned to the US, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the fields of energy efficient design, client relations, and construction management. Her admiration of the clean lines of Bauhaus inspired modernism coupled with contemporary materials, and advances in current building science, serve as a perpetual source of inspiration for our array of designs.

Mike Farinacci
Associate
Mike has an abundance of construction experience, after graduating with a B.arch from Kent State he worked as a carpenter which has proven to be invaluable in his current role as construction document specialist. Mike works with and coordinates the engineering partners we work with in our projects
